Yep... that's right. THIS Saturday at BMW with the Eurofest. In return for volunteering for the morning session or the afternoon session to help out with the Arrive n Drive Charity autocross event, you will get three runs in a new M3 on the autocross course. (This will be at the upper deck parking lot first right hander after the entrance gate.) The M3s are Automatic and Stick. Volunteers are not allowed to run times for the trophy for FTD BUT if you want to cough up $35, you can buy a ticket for 3 runs and run for FTD trophy.
If you are interested, I need to know quickly as there are a limited number of positions to work.
Worker sessions are
1. 7:15 AM to 12:30
This group will get their 3 runs each between 7:30 and 8:30
and
2. 12:15 to 4:30
This group will get their 3 runs each between 3:30 and 4:30 (maybe 5)
Work will consist of working grid, getting people in cars, instructing, PA system announcing times and picking up pylons. Any that hang around to help tear down, it won;t take long as everything is staying ther for the AX sunday.
By working one shift, you can run the M3's, you still have time to enjoy the car show (WHICH IS FREE ADMISSION FOR ALL) and you get the chance to help a great cause Americian Red Cross. Every dollar raised stays right her in the upstate and is used for relief for families that need it. If you know anyone who ever lost a home,, you know how quickly Red Cross moves in with lodging, clothes, counseling, food and care to help them rebuild their lives.
The marques honored this year are Morgan and Mini..but you will see Ferraris, Panteras, Loti, Maseratis, ... the next largest European car show in the south is Amelia Island... and save up for THAT ticket. This one is free. Over 500 cars on display along with automobile vendors and food. SCCA will have a tent with the Grassroots Motorsports Bezerkley displayed.
Hope to hear from you. First come first served!
Thanks
Ted
