-Tail of the Dragon has been postponed until further notice. More info about when it will be rescheduled go here.

-Anderson University has agreed to let us hold one autocross at a cheaper rate than previous events. After the one, the price will be re-negotiated.

-Petit LeMans, Sep. 25-26 at Road Atlanta. More info here.

-Cars and Coffee October 3rd in Charlotte. More info here.

-Potential movie night after a short Wednesday meeting next week. Any movie ideas? So far Death Race 2000 is about the only proposition.

-We want to plan a charity event, either a completely separate event or in conjunction with a normal auto-x or the CMF. More discussion at future meetings.

Why don't we all just go up to Caesars Head instead of Deals gap. Zach and I have the day off. Or we recently went on a back road that went up about halfway to Asheville and ended up in Easley. nice, easy drive that bring you out to a place with a lot of good lunch stops.

As for the philanthropy event, I found out that Clemson actually has a MS Society club at Clemson so I am sure getting them on board would be very easy. I wanted to do MS Society because they lost a previous yearly charitable donation from another campus organization, so I figured we could help make up for it. Not to mention it is a large charity, so the more people that know about the charity the more people that will want to give to it.

But I really think Stefan had a great idea on doing a Poker Run. This would allow for anybody, from bikers to racers, to come, donate and have fun. But our success will rely on how quickly we get this off the ground and into the public's attention. I'm thinking maybe planning it for November 14th? It is a Saturday with an away game and has plenty of time for people to get "in the know". What do ya'll think?

If someone gets on the ball and starts now, the Nov. 14 might not be too early. But we'd need to start now so we could start the advertising very soon.

*edit* found the contact for Clemson MS Society and I'll get in touch today. If anyone who is good at making flyers wants to just start thinking of something that would be good. Hopefully we can get something made before the next meeting. Once I get the OK from the MS Society people I will make a thread about the event.

I guess accounting information systems class is actually good for getting something done!

Talked to Jennifer Shirley, I think she is head of philanthropy at Clemson. She thinks it is a great idea, but she was concerned about the legality of the Poker Run if we had a cash prize. But this is the only potential snag, so if we have to have a non-cash prize that is not that big of a deal...

We need to be thinking of what prizes we could do, perhaps getting sponsors on board to supply those prizes or give a charitable donation to have their name on the flyer. For anyone who has done this before either pls get in touch with me or make a phone call or two for me. All I need is a yes or no right now so we can get this flyer out.

Also a route has to be decided. This is not a big problem, but probably needs to be thought of before making the flyer. I will post all this info in a thread once I finally get in touch with an MS society rep, which will hopefully be soon since Jennifer is making this happen.
