Clemson Sports Car Club

Full Version: More active non-forum communication

Hey all

So I talked a little bit about this tonight but I think the club could use a bit more active communication. I'm not sure about y'all but I'm on Facebook all the time. I guess CSCC has a facebook group, but it's for members only and - lets face it - there aren't that many paying members. Having non-paying members still adds to the numbers and helps at events that cost money (i.e. shows, etc.)

I know that a mailing list would seem to achieve the same goal, but my Clemson mail is so full of junk I hardly read anything, and I've yet to see a single CSCC message.

I think it would be beneficial to have a general CSCC group (CSCG?) on Facebook that sent out event invites for all the events (official and unofficial) and messages for when meetings, get togethers, etc. were just because everybody is always on facebook and not necessarily on email or the message boards.

Thoughts?

This sounds like a badass idea, as for the most part, facebook is checked by people far more regularly than these forums. It's also nice to have some alerts to events... typically for autocrosses, I end up just making a facebook event for the CSCC autocross, and inviting everyone I know who has a remote interest in cars. It's a good way to have people become aware of the stuff we are doing.

I still feel we should have more ideas on the matter though... and quite frankly, I'm not that creative. Tongue
when i first joined, the mail list was how i knew about anything happening with the club. FB seems like a decent idea.
I'm surprised we don't already have a group for CSCC on Facebook. I think its a great idea, now whos gonna do it Shock ?
already exists. I'll see if i can get KB to let grant someone admin priveleges so they can add people and send messages and stuff
