First meeting of the semester!

Main point of this meeting was introductions from potential new members and general information about the club.

Some topics covered briefly were:

*Potential autocross dates for the fall semester (still TBD)
- We may have them in a championship format

*Description of NASA events and opportunities

*Caravan to Commerce Drag Strip this Friday the 28th

*There is the possibility of a CSCC dyno night at Top Dead Center in Spartanburg later on in the semester. Seemed to be a lot of interest from potential members and old members alike.

*Anybody interested in joining the club can do so through this link http://clemsonscc.com/staticpages/index....7001436430 or you can fill out a membership form at next weeks meeting. Dues are $30 for both Fall and Spring semesters or $20 for one semester. Other info can be found on the previous link.

We encourage any potential new members to introduce themselves in the Introduction forum on the website, and don't be afraid to start a thread to find out new info on a topic you are interested in or if you have suggestions on something the club can do.

Yep there was quite a lot of new people, probably around 20 or 30

Great turnout at the meeting. Should be an eventful year!

Just a heads up but we may want to stop by there before the meeting and make sure that they can accommodate everyone that wants to go. Yesterday there was already a good bit of people in there and we squeezed in at the bar.

Another idea would be to get a few "Biggy Daddy" (or whatever its called) 28" pizzas instead of individual. 1/2 of one fed three people, me included, and i was stuffed. They are about $25 a piece with tax (excluding tip). Might be able to work out a deal and keep the prices down. People in there are super nice and always accommodating so shouldn't be too hard to work something out.

I'm sure AJ, the owner, would give us some good deals if we bring a handful of people every week. He's a real chill guy. Maybe if we buy 3 "Big Boys" we could get the 4th one free. I mean thats $100 worth of pizza for $75. I'm sure he'd still be making money on it. Should feed atleast 10 people. ($7.50 a person doesn't sound have bad)

Just an idea.

i thought about going by there and checking to make sure they could handle us if we show up 20+ deep all about the same time. Or we could do as suggested and buy several of those big boys, that's a big ass pizza.

Sounds like it was a good meeting. I wish I was in Clemson instead of knee deep jungle mud sometimes...but work is work and this is a once in a lifetime chance so no complaints.

Columbo's used to have a 28" pizza (they still might) and I was one of the only drivers that could deliver it because I could fit it (barely) in the back of my RX-7...ahhhh the good old days.

They had it last semester, but wouldn't deliver it anymore.

Im up in greenville wednesday nights but i should be able to come to at least most of the tuesday get togethers. should be fun

I talked to the guy at Tony's while picking up dinner today, and told him we would have a large group coming on Tuesday. He said that was cool, and might could cut us some deals. He said he has a church group that comes every other tuesday, so we might want to do the same, so as not to interfere, but we're all clear this time. Just so Y'all know, but I'll prob make a separate thread soon.

I'd have no problem with mixing up the place every other week, keep things interesting. We can talk about that at the next meeting or on here.
