Good question. That's something to consider for everyone here. I wasn't an officer before my "term", however no one else ran (or wanted to for that matter) for the pres. spot that year. Being an officer is TONS of work, esp if you really want to do it properly and 100%, but it does allow you to really help push the direction of the club and see your ideas etc. through.

To the other above posts. "It goes without saying." is best applicable.

Chris and I are. I'm not sure about Robbie or David Elkin. Chris is an officer but I can't remember what he was called, secretary of something.

So we will need people to take up the slack! Hope that you run again for a higher position at the end of the year, Kellan thumbsup

My whole concern was that next year when all the officers are new, none of them will have any experience organizing or planning. I'd like to help out with events and general goings on so that I know what to expect if I do get a position next year.

PM'ed Smile

But you bring up a very good point. Yeah its great if officers now get things together but if we do not have anyone to keep the momentum going after we graduate then the club will fall apart again. I feel thats what happened a few years back, we had a lot of older members graduate without really sharing their knowledge of how to run things (that and Clemson kicking us off campus for auto-x's...).

I feel like committees will help this. If more members are involved in the club events then they will at least get a taste of what to do and how to do it! Committees help bring members closer as well ( I know it sounds corny but the better friends we are the better this club will run...) Hopefully a lot of the younger members will sign up to help run autocrosses, come up with a budget, run the cookouts, keep track of block seating (which we now have thumbsup ), etc.

false - its more that there weren't enough newbies that stuck around to see how things worked and to help out. Experience is much better than just being told how to do something.... and thus a bit of backsliding happened.

You guys seem to be out of now from what I can tell way over here though Smile thumbsup

Yeah, finding that correct way to keep "newbies" is more difficult than I thought. But we are getting better at doing so...I hope

As long as Brad keeps from getting himself pummeled by older members...

Sadly that has been a common occurance on the forums. I'd blame 75% of our dropouts on the negativity dished out on here. I got quite a bit of older member whiplast my first semester in the club.
