Bwahahaha! I've seen slow EVERYTHING at autocrosses. The day I beat a Vette in my Focus was the day I learned it was almost all up to the driver. And the day that Rob Summers placed 4th fastest time in S-words stock BMW with race tires.

No seriously, like any good club racer I have a couple spare engines lying around and for a while I was looking for an Echo to swap a 2zz and 6 speed into...then turbo it. I think it'd be fun as hell and the look on some people's faces would be worth it. It sucks they didn't bring the hatchback version to the U.S., they look like Toyota's version of the EK coupe.

Well you could just get a Yaris 2 door. They are basically the same thing as the echo. Swap the 2zz in that and it should fly

The engine bay is a little smaller in the new Yaris's...anyway, 2zz+echo=win...these cars are basically pure winsauce:
