Clemson Sports Car Club

So it's kind of been discussed before and the general consensus is that the website is in need of a bit of a redesign. Hopefully one better than the step backwards the Clemson site took. Anyways, I was browsing through my computer and found the PSD for the template I made a long time ago (August 28 of last year apparently). I'd be willing to develop this further if anyone's interested, and if you think it would be used.

Well personally, I like it. I think it would be great.

I like the banner and the colors, but not a fan of the font and menu layout. Plus when the @#$% is somebody going to use that Porsche banner I spent so much time updating!

We will start discussing this more once CSCC has its own CLUG account. Hasn't happened yet because, as far as I know, they like to set that up in person and I'm 700 miles away.

talking about starting up meetings for the school year, are we going to start having them the first full week of school?
we should also set up some sort of display to gain some new interest and get some people's attention. just an idea

Good to hear you guys like it... I can definitely change the font. Not sure what you mean about the menu layout, as it's pretty much the same as what's here now (there will be other text links by the date for Private Messages).

I guess I'll hold off till the first meeting, but I'd be willing to work something it. Chris wanted to make something from scratch, but I think that's alot of unnecessary work and it looked like it might have been difficult for a non-geek to understand. I want to use phpBB 3.0 (this is 2, i think, and it's been around since the stone ago) which is free and a good step up from what we've got now. Should be able to get a calendar and gallery that mesh in a bit better as well.

chris wanted an all new site with what he considered ease of use things and despite asking for our help felt like it was rediculous that he had to explain it to us. In the end his idea seemed complicated and non-easy to use. KISS... Always worked for me.

I guess its the font that threw me off with the layout. As long as its not something completely different from the current menu system then I'm ok with it

It did seem a bit complicated, but let's not forget that we never saw enough to really judge it

I'm liking the design. It definitely looks better than what we have going right now.

I'll be at the meeting on wednesday. I guess we're just waiting on Chris to fork over the CLUG information?
