Hey guys. Just thought I'd mention that we just finished paving a .7 mile sprint course at CMP and that it will be open in September for Karts!!! We have a deal with Birel to sell and service karts and are expecting to get concession karts by the end of the year. I don't know much about the pricing, but I do think that it would be a fun event for CSCC to do a karting day at the track and I think the cost per person would be comparable to an autocross. The karts are insane fast and the nice thing about this is plenty of room to run off and no rails to clang into. Here's the track map and info.

If it's really comparable to an autocross price-wise and you get a decent amount of seat time, then I say it's game time twisted
I also would like to mention to anyone that cares that CMP is now an official Birel kart dealer and they sell some sick pieces. 803-475-2448 for anyone that would like more info.

I went indoor karting a couple times this summer and for seat time it's a way better deal than autocross... Even the normal rate is better than autox, though it goes by faster than autox. $25 for 15 minutes of hot lapping.

A couple weekends a go dad, sister, a friend and I went on a day they had all-day unlimited karting for $80... That was epic, and awesome. We stayed for 7 hours and boy were we sore after that, haha. Total of 3.5 hours seat time (15 mintues on, 15 minutes off) for $80 is not bad. Karting would be also more or less remove the issue of he's-only-faster-because-his-car-is-better... which is something that appeals to me, because my boatstang doesnt turn too well Tongue
VLK in Charlotte is probably closer to Clemson, but it'd be nice to have an alternative, especially if you guys do more league & endurance stuff than they do Cool
