Fixed, Best of Show is determined by the attendees (both with cars in the show and spectators alike) by popular vote.
top dead center Wrote:I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but we take cars all over and win at big shows. It's not anything against the owner, but the judges failed here.

remember, our best of show was awarded via popular vote by people present at the show.

btw, other than a lot of the obvious classes and trophies, what kinds of awards to y'all see at some of the shows you've been to that you think would be cool to include at our show that would make it better? We're open to any kind of suggestions and feedback that we can use to make this event bigger and better.

We're gonna start with a Saturday and get the weatherguy to help us out first off, but we'd like feedback from everyone about things to do better.
ok, fair enough. I didn't see my place to vote. I should have.
diddnt say was the best ibut did win dont be jeaulos . i have also taken it to other car shows a ll over too and guess what won their two by the way the judges was the attends not judges. yeah its stock with seat covers but still won it is a work in process. but dont feel bad you wasn't the first one that i beat that had everthing done to their car.
I didn't even bring my car to the show. I was just there. And it's not jealousy. Like I said, there were more complete and deserving cars there.

And I'll clarify. It's nothing against the guy or the car who won. In my book, a "best of show" car should be just that. The best of show. It should excel in every aspect of modifying a car. Not just a paint job.

If there was a "best paint" trophy, then this car deserved it. Even though I didn't car for it, it was a good job.

But in my book, not best of show.
like i said early this was voted by attends at the show i have no problem with what is said about it but only have a problem is that a perforce shop that was a sponsor shouldnt diss others at the show thats not good for bussiness in my opion. just think though you might had new customer but know know to look else where
I, nor the "perforce" shop I run, have "dissed" your car. I've explained myself on here and in response to the myspace messages you keep sending.

As for my "bussiness", we're a performance shop, and have continued to grow without comic book themed cars. But, if you need some help finishing your car, we would be thrilled to help.

Other than that, I've said all I can say. I don't care who voted for it, who loved it or laughed at it, I still don't think it's best of show material.

But please, if you choose to respond, please try to dignify yourself with a little proper grammar. And a few punctuation marks would be nice too.

A sponsor shouldn't diss others at the show. That is not good for business in my opinion. Just think though, you might have had a new customer but I now know to look elsewhere.

FIXED, sorry.

also, there is a spell check button on the bottom right.
Thanks keegan. So where did all the other "attends" go to vote? All 22 of my "attends" missed it.

Also, I need to add that comments I make are representative of myself, and not the CSCC.
Looks like everyone is keeping it civil, so I commend you for that. In the past it would take no time for the po flinging to commence. The mods def. need it, esp. being finals week and the much needed break I've been taking from the boards.

I'll say this.

Although in my own personal opinion, I didn't necessarily prefer the car that won best of show, I and the other guys running the event can't renigg or go back on what we put forth as far as the best of show and other classes go. It was always our intention to make that trophy available for the general audience to vote on and they did. I'm sure some might think the voting is suspect and/or was swayed etc... however, I assure you, I asked multiple times those that counted the ballots and it was all there. I can assure you next time that we will make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR that people need to vote for their favorite car and make sure that they know the best is voted accordingly. This being that we'd likely have people walking around handing out ballots etc... Unfortunately though, this is what comes with the territory of allowing popular votes.

We can try to change things up by including some of the suggestions by a few of you guys, but again, in the end, being in our shoes vs. yours, it tends to be much easier to say "you should have done x..". Again, not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers or offend anyone, but we are in a position where we have to make decisions where there are ALWAYS pluses and minuses and unfortunately, you can't always have the 100% desired outcome.

We'll start much much earlier on the planning and recruiting stages of next years event and will try as best we can to include your suggestions and ideas as best as possible.

I was happy to see a good turnout, even with the inclimate weather. We did have 3 shops that weren't able to make it out due to the weather and/or other person reasons, so from that prospective, we would have easily have 10-15 more cars. In addition, it was very difficult to schedule many into the event because of it being such a busy month for everyone.

I hope that everyone that attended had a good time and looks forward to attending again next year. We are still in the building stages of this event, but our long term goals are very high and rightfully so if we all want to have a very fun and great event. Hopefully, some of you liked some of the improvements we made, such as the stage, trophies, new logo and other banners that we included this year. We will be adding more things to make the event more polished and professional. Even with these improvements, we still want to make sure this is a fun event as I said, so please don't get confused or think we're trying to change what the event has become.

I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you at the event next year.

ya, i didn't vote either, neither did, LC, Patrick, or Logan (the peeps with me).

get my PM on your boards?

Ross,

I'm always civil, lol!

You guys really did a better job on the show this year. You made a lot of improvements since last year. I think you guys are on the right track.

Start your planning earlier, and you'll draw way more people. One thing that I use alot is MySpace. Get all the club members to post bulletins on MySpace and facebook. I just really didn't see anything on the show besides on my forum and here.

I tend to offer a little much criticism, but I really think you guys are heading the right way.

One thing I'd suggest is having one "entrance to the show, sort of gated, and hand eveyone a ballot to decide best of show. That way no one is left out.
I also highly recommend (especially if I'm running it again) that Registration is NOT next to the stage with the speakers. I could barely hear what anyone was saying to me and that's not just cuz I'm old and killed my hearing with heavy metal concerts Wink

You had peeps? They're delicious. And yes, I got the PM. Call me at the shop. I can't type all of that....LOL
