There is if you're selling the right parts to the right customer.
A set of cams for an evo runs 500-650 dollars and wholesale for half that... it's all relative.
Scorke
it is relative.
I always thought I should be marketing to the 'import' crowd instead of the GMs.....

Yeah, but would you be able to sleep at night?
<-- import crowd

For even crazyer brakes you can get an adapter to use c5 corvette brakes. WARNING stock 16's dont fit tho. Thats why i'm doing this conversion instead. Only prob is i ripped the tag of my calipers (to paint) and don't know whitch one is for whitch side

. I assume that the bleed nipple goes up not down but am not certain. Can you plz tell me. GREAT writeup, reading this was the deciding factor in doing this conversion, thnx. Great pic of the rotors side by side.

What C5 conversion kit you going with? I can supply the UMI kit and what ever other parts you might need.
The bleed nipple shoud go up so the air can escape.

Reminds me of major lols when my father and I redid the whole suspension on his 911. After replacing the discs and having removed everything, we just bolted it back up. but we couldnt get the brakes to feel right. the car just would not stop even after repeated bleeding the brakes and purchasing a power bleeder (presurized bleeder.) Eventually we posted pictures on pelican parts trying to figure out wtf was going on...
Turns out the nipples were pointing down. (we had switched left and right.) So no matter how hard we tried, we werent bleeding all the air out.
Seems so simple. but when your putting the whole thing together (shocks in their weird ass canisters, discs, bushings.) you just dont really think about the nipples.
Calipers had been confused when we took them out to be cleaned.
Yea the C5 conversion would be really nice. But that would be more expensive and im on a budget. I have 17s on now so that wouldnt be a problem. And to answer your question the nipple does go on top. I found this out the hard way. After I put mine on and after about 2 hours of trying to bleed the brakes and not having any luck I thought about it and realized that I had put them on the wrong side. Good luck with this project.
Also Im almost 100% positive that the 97 has the same calipers and brakes as the 93-96. They only changed the brakes in 98 when they switched to the LS1 and made all the other changes. The only thing that I know of that was changed in 97 was the new interior.
