I bought some sway bars and they were chipped during shipping. While they are under the car, would it really matter that there is some bare metal exposed or is it just cosmetic? Would there be any way to patch the spots so rust doesn't develop or should I just get them powdercoated again? Thanks.
I would sand them down so there is no rust and just repaint them with a good durable quality paint. Rustolium works well.
if they are rusted and your really particular about your stuff, a can of rust converter is a great thing to have around. use that before you put your paint on (good for lots of other stuff too))
get xtopher to powder coat them pink?
Who's going to be looking under your car?
You'll get some surface rust sooner or later, but you're going to have that on any daily driver.
Forget about it and go straighten some curves!
I would probably just paint the bare spot with some good spray paint
What kind of swaybars did you buy? That is the next thing to buy for my Subaru. Did you get new endlinks too?
I guess I'm just going to rustoleum them. That way it's going to take that much more to rust. I would have them powdercoated but I could use that money elsewhere. I would think it would be $100+.
Anyways, they are Whiteline sways, 27mm front and 24mm rear. I'll hook them on the car using Kartboy endlinks. I'm waiting for an ALK and install all of them at the same time.
