This means I will want to throughly abuse my cars first to insure it is up to the task. Mountain runs anyone?
CMP is a really fun track. Low grip so be careful if its a cold day in November, especially through the kink. Its a fairly hard braking track as well so make sure you have some pads and brake fluid up to the task of 30 min heats. Take a couple of laps to scrub and warm up your tires and do some quick stops to warm up the brakes and you should be fine. Its a very fun place, both with technical flowing sections and high speed raise the hair on the back of your neck sections. There's plenty of run off room for the most part and gravel to catch you. Be careful of turn 3 as a lot of guys tend to hook it there......and there's only metal guardrails on both sides to catch you so use very smooth hands there.
It has DOT 4 fluid, and I have two sets of Hawks Black pads, tires would have to be purchased.
I hope to make this - not sure yet. I've been there once before (November '09). I had a blast and look forward to returning.
In my little black notebook where I keep notes about tracks; the one corner I'll share the note is turn 8:
"Late apex - if too soon you go into tire wall track right btwn 8 & 9..."

And I am DEFINITELY up for a scenic drive at Caesar's Head once I supply you with brewskies in exchange for your skills with putting in all of the new stiffer nismo bushings/new control arms, changing oil and brake fluid too. :-D I've felt slow for way too long.

^ I agree with everything here. CMP kills brakes because you are hitting them many times in a row and HARD. The cooler temps in Nov will help, but going into 1, 8, 11, and 14 are all very hard stops. The Kink is Turn 10 and is terrifying to most. It's all about no fear in that corner. You cannot lift or you will spin. Also, 3 is one of the fastest corners on the course and the only one with rails near it. Be careful there because you don't have time to catch a mistake before it bites you. Keep all that in mind and you'll have a great time!

Ive raced there and worked there enough to pick out the nuances of where most people screw up. T3 is probably the second most messed up corner. The gators on drivers right drop off severely into the sand so if you track out too far and drop two wheels; good luck. The most problematic corner is T8. It is sharp, at the end of a long straight, and is banked. If you track out too far there, keep going. Dont try to save it or you are going into the woods on drivers right.
Also, I have gone through three complete sets of brake pads in one weekend at CMP in my GTI. The track is not hard on brakes, it consumes them. Bring spares. Having said that, I think this track is more fun to drive than any of the others in the SouthEast (even Road Atlanta!)
I'm always up for another mountain run. Though I'm going to have to get some new pads first. Brake fade for the lose.

hahaha I forgot about that one.....I spun there just like he described during my first track day. hhaa
