Hey everyone, my name is Ryan Herrick and I just transferred to Clemson from The University of Connecticut. Its good to be here in SC and it was awesome to meet you guys tonight at the cookout. My hometown is Marlborough, MA which is about 45 minutes west of Boston.

My ride is a 2003 Mazda6 V6 with a few mods...but not quite track ready. I've had the car for almost 2 years and everything is gone well so far. My plan is to get suspension done before next semester and start autocrossing with the club.

Current mods.

Engine/Drivetrain:

Injen CAI w/Amsoil filter
AWR Lower Engine mount and Transmission Mount
Mazdaspeed Shorthrow
TB coolant bypass
Denso Irridium power plugs

Suspension:

AWR front endlinks...

Exterior/lighting:

door guard delete!!
painted grille
Apexcone 6000k HIDs
Niteshades on tails and rear reflectors
white license plate leds

Interior/Lighting:

Blue Led map lights
Red led footwell lights
auxmod basic Mp3 integration

I think I met you tonight at the cookout? Silver 6? Good to see ya make it on the club! I used to have a Mazdaspeed6 and know several friends who auto-cross their six, hope to see you continue the mod spiral lol.
Welcome to the club! Don't think I got a chance to meet you at the cookout, but saw you pull in.
Good to see ya on the boards. Should be a fun semester Smile

Ya silver 6, almost looked gray it was so dirty lol. I've got plans for suspension very soon since I think the rear shocks may be going. Thinking about doing Tokico or bilstien shocks/struts with Mazdaspeed hatch springs along with Racingbeat rsb with the awr end-links.

Good deal!!! I definitely liked it for the academics and sports, but I needed a change of scenery. Clemson was the answer to that Big Grin
Welcome to the boards Smile I forgot to ask about your mods. You've already got that part of the addiction down. hahah You'll have fun at an Auto X with that 6 I'm sure.
Sorry, still waiting until I have time to clean my car so I can take pics.
Pics in 1st post! Trying to become active in the club this semester so you may see me around.
I hope we see you running at autocrosses. The best place to start is a good set of tires. You could always become a member and drive the RX7 club car if you don't want to drive yours.

I've always been a big fan of the twisted spoke Mazda6 wheels, so much so I put a set on my 3.

Good deal! My first car was a 04 Mazda3 sedan. Definitely miss a few things about that car. As for tires, I would definitely put the $$ out for a set of sticky tires, but I would also have to get some snow tires on top of that. Tires will definitely make a huge difference, probably even better than suspension upgrades.

Wow, this is my only pic I have of the 3...

^^^looks good. That's my favorite color on the 3. I looked for 5 months and couldn't find a 5door that color with what I wanted...tons of leather interiors and automatics.

You are right. You can have all the horsepower and suspension in the world, but if you can't get all those forces to the ground it's money wasted. I would recommend a light set of wheels (depending on what you want for looks I would say get 16x8s). Rota, XXR, and TR Motorsports are budget options, also each addtional inch in diameter means more $ per tire. A set of 225-245 Dunlop Star Specs, Hankook RS-3s, Kumho XSs, or Toyo R1Rs will be a great start for handling. Then shocks, sway bars, springs, bracing, brakes...etc.
You wouldn't happen to know anybody from danbury would you?
