I hate german engineering...most of the time. Simple and to the point is a great way to make a car, and previously american automakers have been good at ONLY that. Now that Ford is using more luxurious materials, better sound, better tolerances, and an engine that doesn't date back 30+ years they are hitting the nail on the head! I have absolutely no argument except that BMW has a slight more engineering overkill, and I'm not even sure that is a positive...

As you can tell I am NOT in the 2008+ M3 crowd. I lust over their body panels, suspension, carbon roof, and interior but something I am glad I don't have is the V8. When I think of BMW 3-series I think of an inline-6, mostly because that is what I grew up with. Adding turbos to it is the natural progression! I really am unsure why BMW decided to put so much money into making another V8, but then again it really is just a M5's V10 with two cylinders lopped off...

Thank goodness BMW will be going back to the 6 in the next generation M3, using basically just slightly modified version of my engine (or so say ze internetz) It will be just my luck that they completely botch the styling...
BMW lost me around the e46 in respects to the 3 series, although I'm a huge fan of the 1 series now! That BMW v8 does sound awesome though... But I've got to say, If I didn't have so many loans to pay off... oh how I would be all over that Mustang!

I love that V8 actually. A 4L NA powerplant that revs to 8300 and makes 414 horses. BUT.....the 5.0 revs to 7000 and makes 100 more lb-ft of torque. It is an absolutely amazing engine in how smoothly it revs and the how hard it keeps pulling. I can't wait for the Boss when it comes.......50 more horses.......hehe
LIES...
m3 vs. mustang....

it doesnt matter, because even if the mustang is better... its still a mustang, and every 16 year old girl and 50 year old creeper will have one...

As opposed to 40-year-old bankers and rich kids who drive M3's? There are a lot of cars that have stereotypes, but that doesn't make the car any better or worse.
We keep the trash talk to a minimum around here, try to respect everyone's ride Wink

haha, yeah, ill try.... i know what you mean, i had a mustang for a little while... and it was pretty quick. Its just the feeling you get when you drive a mustang, isn't like the feeling you get in an M3....
M3 drivers have no friends.

Lol
The shocks were essentially Randy's only complaint about it. Am I the only one that reads this as a set of nice shocks in the Mustang (that's still legal in stock class, yes?) and it would be a hyper bad ass racer?
i still hate mustangs....
