I have always wanted to try some autocrossing and have decide to get off my butt and just go do it. Picked up a cheap car off craig's list and hope to have some fun. What is the first step I need to do to get ready for the next event?
Thanks,
Charles

Well you must be sure to have your car able to pass tech inspection at one of our autocrosses. Usually if your wheels are not wobbly, your battery has a tie down, you do not have any leaks and you take out your drivers floor mat then you pass tech.

If this is a strictly autocrossing car for ya then I would suggest some *extra* work would help you shave a few tenths off your time. Weight reduction is always good, along with finding the best set of tires you can get. Even if you have sloppy suspension a good set of tires goes miles. Also this is offroad so if your car even benefits at all then taking off your exhaust then doing so is an option...
what kind of car did you get?
Welcome! I would say if you've never done autocross before, be prepared to become hopelessly addicted to it and to spend stupid amounts of money on crap to go faster. hahaha It's the most fun you can have for $30 and I guarantee you'll like it. The best advice I can give you is to not have any expectations other than to have fun. We all sucked when we first did it (I still do most days haha), so just have fun Smile
When you need suspension let me know!

Otherwise, WELCOME!!
