Registration is open for "The Endless Summer,"
South Carolina Region's final race weekend of the year, featuring three events on the weekend of
September 18-19:
1. PDX (Performance Driving Experience) where
anyone, regardless of experience can drive a car on track under the supervision of a qualified instructor. PDX Solo and Intermediate groups are also available for those with prior track experience.
2. Track Trial - the 7th event of the
Cool Shirt Southeast Division SCCA Time Trial series.
3. Double CCPS (
Carolina Cup Pro Series) - two 45-minute endurance races for Spec Miata, Improved Touring, Spec Racer Ford and other similar cars, with cash awards for top finishers in class.
This event will be held on the 2.3 mile full course at
Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC.
Volunteers and Instructors are needed for this event. There are also discounted work/drive entries available for those willing to volunteer on one day, and drive in the PDX event on the other.

Please contact our race chairman,
Joe Oliveira ( joe@scsportscar.com ) with any questions, or call us at 803-386-7727.
We look forward to seeing you at the track!
We're really looking forward to this event... hope a lot of you guys can make it down!
I want to highlight a couple of things:
1. If you want to volunteer on one day, and drive the PDX on the other, we're offering a special rate of $100. That's (4) 15-20 minute sessions (3 20's and 1 15) for $100.
2. We've now added an 'Intermediate' group for Novice drivers who are just about ready to be signed off, or for Solo drivers who have just been signed off but aren't ready to play in Advanced yet. This also means that track densities at this event will be even lower than usual - lots of open track!
Please contact us if you've got any questions... hope to see you at the track!

Wow! All of the PDX Novice Work/Drive slots are FULL for September 18-19 at Carolina Motorsports Park.
However, we still have PLENTY of open slots for standard 1-day and 2-day PDX Novice entries, and there are still Work/Drive slots open for PDX Advanced. But those are all going fast too... sign up today!

Groups are filling up for beginner (with qualified SCCA instructor) and for Intermediate (by yourself). $170 for 1 day and $275 for 2 days... THAT'S FOUR 15 to 20 minute sessions each day. Plus the Time Trial and Carolina Cup Pro Series race with Spec Racer Fords, Honda Civics, Golfs, Minis and Spec Miata going at it! A lot of fun to watch.
Contact Nick if you have questions on PDX... your car is not required to have roll bars and you are need nomexs. This is a great chance to get your car on track ... stretch it's legs and get the feel of a road course. Beginners will receive a log book to work toward getting intermediate license so they can run future PDX events solo when they are ready.
If you are interested in the Time Trial, we do have loaner gear provided by CCR's Second Gear program. This included shoes, nomex suits, gloves, socks and some belts. We have several people willing to mentor anyone getting started in Time Trial (full license gets you to hillclimbs as well.)
Thanks
Ted
If I wasn't moving that weekend I'd go. If anyone isn't certain, do it - CMP (and track driving in general) are addictive.
