Took some pics with my new T2i today, actually these are the first pics I have ever taken with this camera...got it this morning :party0030:. We were planning on going to Atlanta Dragway but the test and tune was cancelled due to weather, so we decided to take a ride in the foot hills!

Chris and Zach (guy with the 135i) decided to join. Camera is a Canon T2i with a Canon 18-200 tele lens. C and C welcome, thanks for looking!

And this was take from the back seat of the M5 through his front windshield, and the car was about 100 yards away...I love this lens!

Very nice.
every once in a while I forget how garish and silly the 135 looks and how much i would love to have one.
Pretty good especially for a first attempt. To get better rolling shots have a longer shutter (put it in tv mode and go down to 1/60th of a second) Also shoot later in the day. Shooting midday when the sun is at its brightest and right overhead is will tend to make the pictures blown out

enjoy the camera though and learn by doing.
^agreed, it also will help to have some of thebackground or the car in shadows, which you cant do really that well in mid day. a lot of rolling shots is location and time of day, and then the other half is camera angle and shutter speed/exposure.
most of the rolling shots are a lil overexposed and have too fast of a shutter speed.
you have to use manual mode or a mode that has a longer shutter speed.
(the shutter sped button is the small button right behind the shutter release if you don't already know where it is...)
have fun!
yup read the two posts above this one, looks good tho br0. if you aren't busy tomorrow i'm shooting kellan's car with mark's 240, you should come join us Smile

Your getting close to insulting my intelligence...

I appreciate the comments!
Tongue hey it took me a while to find it XD
and i actually found it by accident.
the first few months of having mine i was like where tf is the iso button (i dont like reading manuals, and refused to do so...) the slr i trained on was a film one from the 80's where the iso was a knob you turned, and aperture was on the lens.

Lol...yeah my last SLR was a film one back when I took classes in middle school (McCracken wassup), had aperture on the lens and a wheel behind the shutter button for the speed. Thankfully this one has the same adjuster wheel so I found it pretty quick Big Grin

Chris and I were messing with the adjustable autofocus mode. Its unreal what this thing can do...not to mention the live view option, so now I can take difficult shots (like rolling shots) without having to put my entire body outside the car to look through the viewfinder! I can't wait for the first autocross, hopefully I can get enough HD vid footage to make a "CSCC Auto-x" video.

iso and shutter speed are two different things there dude. and film cameras only have adjustable iso by changing film. knob woulda been for shutter speed.

john, looks like a good start, just keep shooting.

if you can find a good camera mount for inside your car you could use it like a GoPro, i'd never put an SLR outisde the car on a suction mount during autox tho lol.

I was hoping to get some good footage from outside the cars, like a compilation of all the "close calls" for the day. The only problem is that I will have to be quick with the focus since the AF is inactive for video...
not on a 7D [Image: th_stirthepot.gif]
