These are some notes I was able to take from the meeting the other night, along with a rough schedule of the upcoming semester's events.

Notes:

-We are talking to Fred Switzer about hopefully getting on the organization fair

-The First Friday parade is coming up, next Friday Aug 20, post up if you have a racecar to possibly represent

-Horse Shoe display is coming up, Aug 25th, we may have two tents setup, one at the horseshoe and one at the shoe boxes. Many more engineers in the 'boxes, only makes sense. Post up if you have a tent we could borrow.

-First meeting is also Aug. 25th @ 9pm Daniel 101, be sure to make it

-We will be creating comittees to help get sh!t done easier, contact me if you want to be on any one of the below comittees:
Autocross
Cookout/car meet (will be having two of these, details below)
Treasury
T-shirt/Logo?
Possible Dragon trip, details below

-We want to have a member of FSAE and Baja SAE come and talk at a meeting if they will let us talk about the SCC at one of their meetings. If you are on one of these teams pm me.

-Decided on the three dates for the autocrosses, as follows: Sept. 18, Oct. 9, and Nov. 20. Registration for the first one will be available shortly.

-A cookout/car meet has been scheduled for the second saturday after school starts, Aug. 28. We are looking for a place where we can park and grill relatively close to each other. If you do not have a ride at the moment contact me or any of the officers, we want YOU at this cookout.

-Thursday there is a SCCA meeting at Quaker Steak and Lube, check Ted's thread for details. A few of us were probably going to make it, just wanted to let people know...

-We discussed the possibility of an overnight trip to the Dragon sometime this semester. Fall break was thrown around...it is on a Monday and Tuesday this year so going on a weekday would help with traffic. We could pick a hotel early and try to get everyone staying the same place, I'm pretty sure that would be a good time! Post up ideas...

Not included in the meeting but I just wanted to throw it out there:

-I want to get more stickers made, not to mention more T-shirts that people can actually buy. Also, I know the card idea has been thrown around before but if we get some decently professional cards to throw on people's cars to try and get them to join around campus I think it may work for a few people.

Calender of Events:

-16, Another pre-plan and getting ready meeting
-17, Organization Fair on Bowman (I think...)

Whew, that was a type. Thanks for reading and be sure to post up your comments, criticitsm, and ideas for events this semester. This is going to be an exciting time for CSCC, the more people that help the better!
good seeing you br0ski, looking forward to a great year bang
every looks great,

you might consider tentatively scheduling a 4th autocross in case of weather or low pre-registration.

i'd also suggest moving any discussion of a mountain run or similar activity to the members only area.
the club can not condone/sponsor these due to liability and insurance purposes (accidents have happened on mountain runs).
Damn! Looks like you guys did some serious planning. I'd love to help out and be more involved this year. let me know what you need.
Looking good. Unfortunately, I don't think my dad's RX-7 is going to be available for the displays or parade, but I'm sure we can get some other cars out!

And I'm the treasurer, I don't think we need another committee for that Tongue

Have you made a Fall 2010 budget yet? A committee could help with that...

Try to make it to the first meeting. We will have plenty of chances to sign up to help for stuff on the 25th.
You forgot to add in out Gran Tourismo 5 nights.... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am taking Nov 2nd off for GT5.

DDMWorks not DDMWerks
Nice to see some stuff getting done! I will definitely be at the first meeting and if needed the 951 should be ready by the time of the parade and displays.
We did talk about a lot of stuff... the NASA-SE schedule is a little off.

Sept. 25-26 is an HPDE event at NCCAR
Nov. 6-7 is a full weekend of HPDE, time trial and sprint races at CMP
Dec. 3-5 is the last event of 2010, held at Road Atlanta

Also, for anyone who may be interested, I am thinking of driving up to VIR again in October to drive in NASA-Midatlantic's OktoberFAST event. It's Oct. 8-10 in Alton, VA (about a 5 hour drive from here). You don't have to be driving that weekend to go but you do have to be willing to sleep in a tent Smile Zach G. and David went with me last year... warning: may be habit-forming Wink

NASA Nationals is separate and will be September 16-19 at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.

Jim Pantas should be able to come down for the first meeting on 8/25.

Awesome! Ok so we can definitely plan for him to present at the first meeting?
Just FYI, a CCR autocross is October 9th and a Subaru Challenge is October 10th. I would think you might want to schedule around that since CCR is our region for SCCA and because I want to go to both. Smile

The only other weekend available that doesn't have a home game in October is the 30th, which is Fall break when people may be going home. We may need to consider having the October AX on a Sunday.

John, I am about 90% certain that Jim will be there. If the weather is bad, he can't fly down.
Looks good guys! We need to get together soon and do a "check-up" on CC1, I would love to have it in the parade, and at the horseshoe if possible. LMK if I can help on those fronts! see you guys soon

I knew there was something I missed...Yes, we definitely need to have CC1 in the parade and in proper working order before the school year starts. I know more people want to start working on the car to just get their hands dirty on something so we also need to consider how to make the CC1 more accessible to members. I was thinking we could have a pre-determined time in the week where an officer could go open up the garage for a few hours and people could come help do maintenance on the club car.

I just signed myself up for the first friday parade. If anyone else wants to be in the parade contact me and I can send you the link to sign up. We really only have spots for about 2 more cars so first come first serve!!
