I just wanted to let everyone know that "EMPower" (a group w/ Clemson University to promote student safety) is sponsoring this event with Anderson University. They'll be putting through 30 students potentially, 1/3 AU students, 2/3 Clemson students.

Both myself and almost all the other officers have helped or instructed at the previous upstate TRSS events that have helped out. We've worked with Empower to provide our resources and expertise in these events and what works and what doesn't. We all plan on continuing to support these types of events and would like to possibly put one on sponsored by CSCC in the future. This is a great opportunity to show Clemson were about not only competition but also educating drivers on car control that will ultimately make them safer drivers. The more support and people we bring to this, the more of a statement we'll make. And since I didn't note already; I'm recruiting key administration to participate in the training course to make them really see how great this program is and hopefully see how much we support it as well. This could pay dividends for our other goals as a club *hint hint*, but is not and should not be the only reason we help.

Currently, I'm trying to recruit anyone and everyone that can lend a hand either instructing or working at the event. To instruct you need to be 21 (sorry guys, I can explain upon further request), but anyone else can help out. Please note FREE LUNCH AND SHIRT to all workers and instructors.

Can you help?
Ross... I would love to be there but I am already committed to run Eagle's Nest. IF you can come to SWCCCR and present, I'm sure you can pick up three to six good candidates that will not be at the hillclimb. Steven Cagle, Brian Guinn might be available. I'll start poking around but please let me know if you can have someone to present the program and recruit at SWCCCR July 15th (THIS COMING THURSDAY!)
Thanks
Ted
Wish I could, but I"m in Prague currently. Wait a tick... I'll use my trusty teleporation device. Wink

Guys, please give this some consideration and let me know when you can in the upcoming week. I'd like to be able to confirm later in the week this week and show we're bringing some serious manpower.
Were exactly is this event held?
I'd love to help, but I'll be tied up that weekend moving out of my apartment and into the new place.

Tell me what you want covered and who to contact and I'll be glad to cover it at SWCCCR OR you can have a duly appointed rep do so...

Have a great trip! Prague is incredible ....
I can't make this one - I'm in the middle of comps. Definitely have someone talk about it at SWCCCR and I will contact my upstate NASA buddies to see if anyone is available. Is Todd running this?

If I could get an answer to this and what time, I could likely help out.
Todd is running this.

It is going to be held where we autocross. As far as time I believe we are getting there at 7 the morning of.
thumbsup
I should be good to help then.
I got in touch with Todd today, and he said they are good on instructors but can definitely use some extra ground crew for shagging cones and such.

I enjoy shagging things. Cool

Do I need to contact anyone to sign up?

Email Todd Owenby - justtoddowenby at hotmail dot com
Had several ask for more info on Teen Survival at SWCCCR meeting. Hope a few contact and follow through. If you are still short early next week, I'll send out another email pushing. With SAARC race in Atlanta and Eagle's Nest Hillclimb, a lot of peeps are tied up that weekend.
