Hey guys,

The Lemons teams I crewed with last year really needs crew members, maybe 2-4 people. You don't have to have great mechanical ability to do this, just a willingness to help and enthusiasm for racing events. I was crew chief and I mostly walked around in a firesuit (in September, yuck) with a radio keeping track of the other 3 crew members and made sure we were all there when the car came in for fuel stops. You only need a fire suit (and helmet) to refuel the car and go into the hot pits. Once the gas tank is closed, you can assist with driver swaps in the paddock, any repairs, etc.

The weekend was great fun. These guys camp at the track so the evenings are just hanging out and talking, walking around the paddock and talking with other teams, helping out when possible, etc. If you are interested in being on the CSCC lemons team, this is a really good opportunity to see what Lemons in like and to talk to various people who have put together Lemons teams.

Let me know if you are interested. You can either camp in your own tent or a couple of the guys slept in their cars last year. I don't have a tent but I might be able to loan a sleeping bag if needed.

Here is a link to the team's FB page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=lf#!...766&ref=ts
They have a BMW 325e they are running and represent Bimmerforums.com (though the car is painted in the old Bimmerworld racing colors). Some of the pictures will show you the various penalties we got during the race (writing 100 sentences on the car in sharpie etc.)... Anyway, awesome group of guys, they all race with NASA too in Spec E30 and I've never known any of them to be unfriendly or not willing to talk about cars or answer questions.

The event is May 22-23 this year (I'd probably get down there the evening of the 21st) at Carolina Motorsports Park (Kershaw, SC). If you're interested in doing this, let me know.

Keri
I'll be there driving with Satan's Wankel, but I would agree that anyone interested in motorsports should show it. It is a very fun time. I haven't been to a lemons event though. Either way, Keri I'll stop by because we are staying at the track as well. Jaimie is comming too. See you there, and the car in our rear view, lol

Well, that's the thing... Lemons spring this year is the same weekend as NASA's Roebling event in Savannah so I'll be there. Otherwise, I'd be crewing for my team Sad They even said they would give me a special title, Lol

They're a bunch of good guys. Even if you aren't a BMW person, it's a good experience, but if you're into E30s, you almost need to go check this out. You won't get this experience at a regular race weekend.
Why's this have to be when I'm not there Sad I want to get involved with this so bad...
Tempting...
So I definitely interested, but I have no fire suit.
That shouldn't be a problem Mike. I'll contact the team and put them in touch with you. PM me your contact info.
