FYI I don't think the RB is lighter than the L-series. RB is more refined. I can tell you that the L motor loves boost as well twisted

And welcome Bryan from another Datsun fan! You don't need a fuel cell for autocross BTW, unless something is wrong with your stock tank.

The rb is just so much nicer, there was no way I was rebuilding the L.

And the tank is rusted out, I'm hoping to get a new cell in there before the show

Oops, the zoom is too tiny, buttons too tiny, fingers too big ... on my phone... I think I gave my own intro thread a rating ... hrm
What year motor came out of it? If it's a 75-76 I might be interested in the L motor, if you held onto it.

FYI Upstate Z club is doing go-karts next Monday at Frankie's Fun Park. Yes, the karts are gawd-awful slow, but Zed-heds have a good time. I have not visited them in a long time, and they'd love hearing about your car also. At least one other member has an RB/280Z.

Next Monday as in today?? I just got the car to town and need to get the fuel tank before it drives anywhere, along w everthing else that goes w moving 1ooo miles

It'd be cool to check out the z's and meet them, regardless of karting

It's been a while since I've made their meeting, maybe in April I'll go. They meet the second Tuesday of the month (April 13 in this case) at 7pm at Gourmet Pizza at 2002 Augusta Rd. Greenville, S.C. 29605.

i'll try to make that, i'm hoping to do most of the tank install this weekend, finishing it up next ...

thanks, did i talk to you briefly? sorry i didn't talk more, i was preoccupied w/ setting the car up. and yes, it sounds like a freakin jet taking off.

the guys standing near the driver side front wheel won't do that again, they all made funny faces when the wg opened and dumped 18psi of exhaust on them.

first run there was no tach signal, but got a hp reading. 2nd run was good. 3rd run the lead fell off at around 5.8k rpms. On top of all that, the car is pretty good a/f at WOT, but running SUPER rich all over the map, needs a retune, and the hp was still going up when he let off at 6.8 during the 2nd run w/ the limiter ... higher ... Big Grin

and i had a sense of joy going after that roush
