hey guys im Ian the president of Carolina Motorsports at USC, I am one of the guys that is running the dyno here and I was wondering how many of you guys would be interested in a dyno day up here at usc? The dyno is only rated up to 450 hp and 125 mph, we are currently fine tuning the dyno to make sure everything is good since it has been sitting for a good while. let me know if you guys are interested and then we can figure out a date for everything
welcome! i know if we were to put together a little meet, we'd have a decent group to come down and dyno their cars. I know i'd kinda like to know what my tired little four banger actually makes.
I'd consider towing down the Miata. I saw the picture posted of the dyno - think I could get a lowered Miata on it? Think it'd support the weight of a Suburban's rear end? I'm curious how much both are putting out.
I would probably dyno my car, or the GF's CRX, or her hatch. Ether way the meet would be fun.
I'll come if I've got the gas money :/
I'd love to come! It may depend on when, but I'm very curious to learn more about how dynos work and if my car really makes 320 HP. If it's on a weekend, I may bring my 1969, since it's an easy drive to get it from Camden to Columbia. I don't think it would be all that impressive really.
I'll bring the MG. Any prize for lowest hp?
haha we got a lowered miata on there ...the he was having a problem with his exhaust hitting the frame and it bouncing like a mofo...so we didn't dyno it...but we can try someone elses...we are still having a little trouble with getting the numbers right...we cant find the wideband for it or the fan...so we have to get those.. but we should have it ready soon
I would deffinately come, since my "home" is right outside of Columbia. I'd have a place to sleep!
sounds good would you guys wnt to do this before or after winter break
I'm down. I wanna see my numbers with the new exhaust on

I'd say after winter break, I know for us right after thanksgiving we have a week of class and then exams, so pretty hectic. If we wait, we can make sure everyone knows and has some time to come down. How much room is there around that building for parking and stuff? Could we all park and dyno and hang out? would someone get pissed if we had a grill and did burgers and stuff? Just thinking out loud here.
alright thats fine..yeah there is plenty of parking around the dyno area on the weekend...during the week it is a teacher parking lot...so we wouldn't be able to use it then....there should be no problem with grilling and stuff out there just as long as no one decides to go do donuts or burnouts...
i live in columbia, have understanding parents, plenty of place to park, and plenty of floor space.
so ya'll would be more than welcome to crash at my place.
