One of the members here is also on SCFBA- SC F-body Association and has posted up events from time to time. I missed 11/1 because of rain, didn't know what weather you had until it was too late to drive up.

My name is Bob, I have a few GM f-bodies: Camaros & Firebird. I run them at the 1/4 once or twice a year, show them when I can. I think it would be intersting to see how they run a road course. The BlackBird is dialed for something like that. Z28 is mostly stock suspension.

Won't get to make 11/22 but hopefully some future event.
welcome to the forums.

you'd be surprised at what an f-body can do with the right suspension and tire setup. just look at any trans am race up until 2001.
Welcome!
BlackBird car came stock with eibach progressive springs, 17" TTII's and Eagel F1's. Currently has G-Force BFG's 275/40 KDWS w/ 400 treadwear. I'm going back to the Eagle F1's next time I need tires.
cool! welcome to our forums, and we really hope you can make a future event. I'm diggin the sig pic, but it's a tiny bit big.

I'd be happy to crop it if I knew how. I was just proud of myself for getting it to show up.Big Grin
^I feel ya on the sig thing, I had someone else do mine.
Anyways, WELCOME! I'm from the Columbia area (Blythewood to be exact) but go to Clemson.
We are working on getting a spring schedule made and should have it up hopefully within the next week or so.
Welcome!!!! It's always nice to see another American muscle man on these board. LOVE THE CAR!!!! I was looking into finding a WS6 Trans-am until the Shelby popped up. Our autocrosses are a great way to see how the car would do on a road course and I'd say you should try and join us on the 22nd or in the spring. Speaking of road courses, Carolina Motorsports Park is 35 minutes from Columbia and the only road course in SC/NC (a shameless plug since I work there). thumbsup

68 RS/SS!?!?!? Alright!!!! I've got a 1969 Mustang Grande Coupe, not quite as cool but I love old cars. 4 speed? Muncie perhaps? What color?
Thanks all for the warm welcome. I'm only in the states 6 months a year, but try to make the most of my time home. I'll be 10 time zones away on the 22nd. I should be back around mid-February. I had a skip Barber video course with an instructor about 25 years ago, but no track time. (I was outside of Boston and the nearest track was Limerock, CT) Things have started to slow down in my life allowing me to look at getting into something like this. (It's exciting to know ther Motorsport park is so closeSmile.)

I was very disappointed in not making last week, but an hour and a half of driving in the rain with the possibility of it still raining at the event, just didn't make sense for me.

If you check out the fquick link at the top of my sig you can see my virtual garage. Yes the 68 is a muncie 4 speed.
BTW we used to have a WS6 that would routinely win overall FTD. If I recall correctly he didn't have a lot done to the car, just drove the piss out of it Smile
Welcome to the site! That is one nice Firebird, and you won't hear me say that too much Lol

You can resize and crop your picture when you view it on photobucket. Please take a minute and do so as it is a bit large. I'd do it right now, but Linux is not so nice when you want to do simple image manipulation.

an F-Body on race tires can be very competitive with the right driver.

i can't remember the last time that one had FTD, it's been like 5-6 years.
Ok, fixed the sig, thanks for the help.
