Can anyone sign up as one?
there is only one that i know of. Marc Osgood. Namely due to a LOT LOT LOT of donations to the club, that included one of the club cars.
and years of work helping the club out.

otherwise i have no idea what you are talking about.
What's a Club Car?
Dont forget about the tires mark donated :-)

A car that the club owns for students to use at events. Right now we have an '84 RX-7.
Hmmm. Like for autocross use? I may have something for you guys if that's the case.

And for the lazy at heart.

Quote:What does CSCC offer me?
Members recieve discounts at all major events ranging from $5 - $15 per event. We strive to put on affordable events that our members are interested in.
Who can become a member?
Regular members are considered Clemson Students, Faculty and Staff. In addition, we offer a "Honorary Membership" to others interested in joining our organization. Honorary Members will receive all the benefits of regular members and can participate in all our events, but due to regulations are not recognized by the University.
How do I join?

Fill out the forms that apply and email them to ClemsonSportsCarClub@hotmail.com.

The club car was originally started as a Yugo that the club bought to let members race that didn't have a car they could race. They stripped it and made cheap, but usually free upgrades to the car. That car was eventually scrapped and put in it's place was a first gen RX 7. We are not on version 3.0 of the rx 7.

I'd like to get someone to put together a little history on this and make it a static page for the forums as we begin to move over the old static pages and other forum material.
We need to update this and make it a little more obvious to people that they can join the club without being a student.

The link for the application just goes to a Clemson Athletics page. I'm also unsure if anyone who wants to can sign up as an honorary of if it is limited to those chosen by the group for their help with the club.
I think your version of honorary and what straight four described are different

From what I understand, yes, non-clemson-students can become members of the club (I think this is what you're asking) by just paying dues.

Cool

Then as soon as the application link works, count me in.
Yea anybody can join the club, whether you are part of the university or not. Marc has a lifetime membership to the club due to the aforementioned reasons.

Yep it is for autocross use Smile. Another club car would be bitchin! bang
I'd like some infor as to what happens with the car when not in use. Who keeps it and where? That kind of thing.
Currently it's housed in a rented garage at a local apartment complex. We've spent a good bit of time in the past couple of months bringing it back to life, and since most of that is done most of the work should just be focused on repairs. Upgrades when we can get parts. There's no strict set of rules about who can and can't work on it.
I would like to become a normal student member but due to the links i cant Sad Was hoping to sign up before this last autocross.
We'll get the links sorted out. Didn't now they still hadn't been fixed yet.

When the club car isn't in use it is stored in the rented garage we have over at a local apartment complex (like Robbie said). We have a few members living in that complex and the one next to it, but there isn't one set person who "keeps" it. I'm currently the one in charge of CC1 so I guess you could consider me the coordinator of the club cars at the moment. We will work on the car if anything needs fixing, but the rest of the time it sits in the garage until an autocross. Also like Robbie said, we only add upgrades if they are free / if we can afford them. Lately we can't afford anything and have been relying on donations of parts to upgrade the car (BIG thanks to the guys at Chap Racing thumbsup ).
