For Sale is a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta 24 Hours of Lemons car. This is a well-sorted car with minimal track time on it. The car recently ran at Carolina Motorsports Park earlier this month. The car ran flawlessly in Friday practice, handling well. Unfortunately we had an electrical problem in the race. My team is regrouping and with other things in my life right now I need to sell my racecar. Certainly not happy about this as I have put a lot of time and money into it. The Good -Serious weight reduction throughout car -Custom built roll cage exceeding LeMons/ChumpCar tech standards. -Seat mounting frame linked to roll cage (does not include seat) -New SunPro Gauges on Custom Dash -Front/Rear Strut Braces -New Rotors and Drums 60 miles old -New Shoes and Performance Pads 60 miles old -Fresh Motul 600 in lines -New ball joints, tie rod ends -Trimmed Springs reducing ride height by over an inch -Good condition shocks and struts all 4 corners. Filed for -3 camber. -New clutch 60 miles old -Brand New Fuel Pump -New belts and Pulleys -Good condition tech legal exhaust -New lugnuts -4 60 lap old BF Goodrich Directional Performance tires. Plus 1 Brand New Sumitomo Spare. All 5 tires mounted on painted aluminum wheels. -New Cam Position Sensor -Some random spared lying around will be included as well. The Bad -The motor does not run. Something has happened electrically (grounded) and in my opinion isn’t worth messing with when you can find a decent GM powerplant for a few hundred bucks and a wiring harness. In fact, look for a Quad 4 out of a Beretta; they match nicely with the gearbox in our car currently. Others have put in 3800SC engines in these cars as well. This car would rocket with a motor like that installed. What You Need To Go Racing -Engine or a wiring diagram to sort out the problem -Seat -Battery -A few friends In addition the front and rear bumpers have been removed. We were looking and I encourage you to do the same at making our own. It is a huge weight saver. I have all the hardware and such should you decide to put OEM back on. This is a fun car to drive and a good way to get into LeMons racing. The build cost was over 3500 dollars. The wheels and tires alone are worth the starting price. I would be happy to show the car to anyone and have it for sale locally as well. I will not ship it, so be prepared to bring a trailer to come get it. Any other questions just ask. Also, I would prefer paypal. ---------------------- I have a wiring diagram to include with the car as well.

Zach...there are cars that run that are worth more than $2000... it's a game. You try to make it look as trashy as possible and slip the judges something so you won't get penalized. This is not like Grassroots Challenge where you must show dollars and proof. It's fun and a game to slip as much as you can past the judges.
Mike Smith put together a Tbird... last year. He found a birds nest in his back yard and pulled part of a wiring harness out of an old Brit car he had and placed them under the hood along with a bunch of strategically placed acorns and pine needles. When the judges came by and told him to pop the hood, he did... apologized for the mess, grabbed the birds nest and tossed it out so they could see...apologized for the wires...grabbed a handfull and yanked them out of the car... and said" I hope none of that was hooked up!" The judges rolled on the ground laughing and said "THIS is a true Lemons car!" and gave him no penalty. They missed a bunch of items that had been done to make the car go fast because they were distracted. Last year, one team had a bunch of go fast parts and had a lady friend flash the judges... they gave him no penalty. Like I said, it's a game.
Flashing eh? Sign me up! Big Grin
It's all about reliability anyway Tongue
damn thats a good tactic...we planned on spraying the whole engine bay down with wd40 and driving down a dirt road
Sold with one bid for $800.

Here's another driving Rx7 in Seneca at $450 (has a reserve)

85 RX7 in Piedmont $450

1986 RX-7 - $950 (Roebuck )

There's still plenty of candidates out there. Talked to Steve, he does have a roll caged Rx7 body he would turn loose of. It's cheap and rough... two qualities we should be looking for. Put the money where it will do good.
