As most of you know I have an 07 Si Sedan that I really enjoy. The car is MINT and paid for. Well my Mom has offered to buy the car, that has got me thinking and the car would stay in the family.

I've got a bunch of options but I'm leaning towards a S2000. I found a like new white 07 S2000 with 2339 miles for a decent deal that is calling my name.

Or I could get a tow vehicle and aluminum trailer. But I don't mind driving to events in the hatch.

Or just keep my car.

I love to drive and with my job I'm out of town a lot and when I'm home it would be nice to just jump in a convertible and cruise or if I need a sedan Jenn and I can trade for the day...

There is a new street tire class in SCCA: STR the word on the street is that S2000's are going to be the car to have. I could put some Moton's, FlashPro, slap some shaved street tires, have a competitive car for autox and it still be a daily driver. But what would I do with the hatch?!?
buy the s2k. prep it for str if you like. she's got a sedan if you need it. track the hatch. sounds perfect to me.
or you could sell me the Si for $3500. twisted
Tow vehicle and trailer. Driving the hatch to and from events is okay until it breaks and you can't get it home. Plus then you can make the hatch a track only car. Smile
I would say buy the S2000, but the trailer and tow vehicle sounds like a better idea. Like Matt said, you don't want the hatch to break while driving to / from an event. I love my S2000 as a daily driver but its really an aquired taste and isn't for everyone. Everyone who owns the car loves it but not everyone drives it on a day to day basis. Many owners couldn't deal with how everything is bare minimum and at one with the road. Its not a super smooth ride and you may miss your creature comforts.
I'd go for the S2000, no question.
I've DD'd my '07 S2000 for the past 18 months (since Day 1). Yeah, it's inconvient at times, but you personally have other cars that can be use when needed. It can fit my groceries, but I can't move any large objects

I guess it can be considered "bare bones", but it has all the features you'd want. (AC, radio, leather, cruise control, traction control) The only thing it really lacks is space. If I were to gain a bunch of weight it might become uncomfortable, but I've seen biggers guys drive these cars.

Now that Hondata FlashPro is coming out in early November, model year '06 and up will be the years to have (either N/A or F/I). It's going to be a MUCH cheaper tuning alternative to AEM, Kpro, HKS etc and still have all the same features except for boost by gear and nitrous control that the Kpro offers. The only real negative aspect of MY06+ is the returnless fuel system, but that doesn't really come into play until you go F/I with over 500whp. There's several people running the returnless system with 450+whp on MY06+

If you can want and can afford the S2000, I'd go for it. I enjoy mine, and I'd like to see others enjoy them as well! Smile

I would put a trailer hitch on it and I could move large objects with my 5x8 utility trailer or use the 09 Si if it involves more than 2 people.

Do golf clubs (2 sets) fit in the trunk?

I have no doubt that I would enjoy it.

More about the car:
- 2339 miles (1 owner & bought from Wilsonville Honda in Oregon)
- Perfect Condition - no accidents or theft
- Garaged and did not ever see a rain drop
- Painted Gold Calipers with "s2000" sticker
- Lowered on Espelir Springs & Alignment done by Honda
- Also comes with Stock Springs
- Price $22,950
-Comes with car cover
-CR side markers

I would fly out to Portland, OR and drive it back which would over double the miles it has on it Surprised

With some wheels and a hard top:

That is one nice looking S2000! Certain cars just look great in white, and that one does Big Grin It would take some serious economical decision making (or girlfriend complaining, she thinks 2 seaters are pointless) to prevent me from buying that instead of a tow vehicle if I was in your situation.

It's not AWD or RWD Cool
Yea the space issue can be annoying at times. But like I said, I love driving mine every day and wouldn't trade it for anything. You can't fit 2 sets of clubs in the trunk. You can put one in the trunk and one in the passenger seat though Tongue .

Jenn has been pricing tickets to Portland $114.20 from Charlotte or $241 from GSP not too much. She is all for it, but she says it's up to me. She is the best woman on earth!

I agree on the white, just looks great.
So is it the car pictured? $22K is insanely low for that MY and mileage PLUS a hardtop and BBS rims.

The Espelirs are very nice springs. I have them on my car and it's still drivable with a front lip. Just be careful with driveways/dips/potholes

Its the GPW at the top of the page. The modded one is what he wants his to look like if he gets it.

Noted. I'm at work and the first image doesn't show. I only see the one with the HT.
